On May 11, the 200-feet jack-ups "Hai Yang Shi You 921" and "Hai Yang Shi You 922" were launched in the Qingdao Yard of Offshore Oil Engineering Co. Ltd. (COOEC).

It is the first time for COOEC to contract and launch the fabrication of 4 jack-up drilling vessels in parallel at home, and the other two are under construction. These 4 platforms, in triangle structure, with a maximum operating water depth of 60.9m and a maximum drilling depth of 6,000m, were all designed, fabricated, tested and commissioned according to the standards of ABS and CCS.

The fabrication of the two jack-ups was launched in COOEC Qingdao yard in October 2008 and is expected to be completed in August 2010.
