On June 17, the AC VFD electric top drive system for 9000 m drilling rigs was successfully developed by Baoji Oilfield Machinery Co., Ltd (BOMCO), and passed load and functional tests. The 9000 m AC VFD electric top drive system is granted seven patents. It is modular designed and one-to-one controlled, featuring in high reliability with integrated mechanical, electronic, hydraulic and communication control. It also has multiple functions such as interlocking, monitoring, alarming and self diagnosis.?? Before then, BOMCO has manufactured the 7000 m AC VFD electric top drive, superpower 7000 m marine AC VFD electric top drive and 1000 m hydraulic top drive successively. The 4000 m top drive system will be configurated in the near future. The gradual serialized production of top drive system will further strengthen BOMCO's capability in providing whole package of drilling rigs. The successful development of 9000 m AC VFD top drive equipment will, in particularly, ,meet the company's desire in industrialized and scale production of 9000 m and 12000 m drilling rigs.
