On August 18, CNPC President Jiang Jiemin met with visiting Australian Minister for Resources and Energy Martin Ferguson and ExxonMobil Senior Vice President Andrew Swiger. They exchanged ideas on promoting cooperation in Australia. After the meeting, PetroChina International Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CNPC, and ExxonMobil's affiliates in Australia signed a sales and purchase agreement (SPA) for the long-term supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the proposed Gorgon LNG Project in Western Australia.
