On February 26, the deepwater semi-submersible drilling platform "Hai Yang Shi You 981" invested by CNOOC was undocked in Shanghai , which was ready for outfitting and debugging at wharf after the completion of iron structure construction and main equipment installation.

"Hai Yang Shi You 981" is a 6th-generation semi-submersible drilling platform and the first of its kind designed and constructed in China. With an operating water depth of 3,000 meters and drilling depth up to 10,000 meters, it is designed to serve the multiple functions of exploration, well drilling, completion and workover in deepwater sea areas.
