On March 10, China's first independently developed submarine pipe-laying winch was successfully debugged and passed acceptance inspection at CNPC BaoJi Oilfield Machinery Co., Ltd. (BOMCO). The model machine was showed at the tenth China International Petroleum & Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition (CIPPE) held in Beijing on March 22. The submarine pipe-laying winch is especially developed and manufactured by BOMCO to meet the desire of lay barges for laying submarine oil and gas pipelines. The winch, with its rope speed up to 20-40m/minute, is an innovative one based on a former version, and applicable to operations 700 meters underwater.
